T10 MILITARY RIFLE MATCH | 0900 SATURDAY 21 NOVEMBER 2026
Deerstalkers Tasmania will be conducting a Military Rifle Match at its Mangalore range on Saturday, 21 November 2026. The event will cater for traditional military service rifles, with a variety of shooting challenges using paper targets at distances of up to 100 metres and steel targets at 150 metres. Competitors will test their marksmanship through a series of deliberate, rapid-fire and precision stages designed to provide an enjoyable and challenging day of shooting. The match is open to suitably licensed shooters, with places limited to 30 competitors. Whether you're an experienced military rifle shooter or looking to try something different, we encourage you to register your interest and join us for a great day on the range.
Expressions of Interest
To register your interest, please email events@ssaatasdeer.com.au with your full name, contact telephone number, shooting club (if applicable), and the make, model and calibre of the military rifle you intend to use. Please also indicate whether your rifle is fitted with iron sights or an optical sight. Places are limited to 30 competitors, and further details, including the course of fire, match rules and registration arrangements, will be provided to those who express interest.
RANGE SAFETY OFFICERS WANTED
Deerstalkers Tasmania is looking for members interested in becoming qualified Range Safety Officers (RSOs). We are currently running short of RSOs and need more volunteers to help with the safe and efficient running of our regular range days, as well as supporting our plans to hold more competitive shooting events. We are working with SSAA Tasmania to arrange training dates, with a possible one-day course in mid-December, subject to sufficient interest. Courses are generally held on Sundays at the T03 Glenorchy range. If you would like to become an RSO and help support the club, please email secretary@ssaatasdeer.com.au to register your interest.

We are open on the 2nd and fourth Wednesday and Sunday each month. Hours are 10.00am to 2.00pm and the gates are usually open by 9.00am

SSAA Tasmanian Deerstalkers Inc. (T10 Branch) is affiliated with SSAA Tasmania.
We are an independent organization committed to supporting our members in hunting and sport shooting through maintaining a range at Pontville and administering areas under license for the purposes of hunting fallow deer.
We have many experienced hunters as well as sporting shooters of all kinds in our club who are only too happy to help and encourage new members.
